It can be challenging navigating all of your babies changes… and now WALKING! Your little roamer is ready to roll and you want the best tools for the job. Clark’s have just what you need, backed by over 100+ years of expertise.
Baby’s bones are soft. The bones in their feet are made of soft spongy cartilage which can easily be pushed out of alignment by ill-fitting shoes (and even ill-fitting socks, tights, sleepsuits). The nerve endings in babies’ feet also take time to develop, so your child may not be able to let you know if their feet are sore or squashed.
Cramping your little one’s tootsies in a pair of shoes too early can squash their feet and prevent them from growing properly. Ideally when toddlers are learning to walk, they should be barefoot as much as possible so they can feel what they touch with their feet and develop muscle strength. However, this is not always safe, therefore, if your child must wear shoes, expertly fitted, soft soled shoes are essential to the healthy development of your child’s feet.
Experts believe many adult foot problems come from unhealthy features found in the vast majority of kids shoes*.
Clark’s are experts in growing feet. From Crawling to Cruising Shoes, First Walking to Toddler Shoes, Clark’s qualified children’s shoe fitters are on hand to advise on the type of shoes to buy, and to make sure they fit your baby properly while also allowing for growing room.
Your baby will need shoes of a specific length and width. Babies’ shoe lengths start from size three. The width will be between D and H, with F and G being the most common widths.
Clark’s shoes are designed to fit perfectly, providing only the necessary support little feet need to grow and develop naturally.
During their first three or four years, little kids’ feet can grow as much as two whole shoe sizes each year. That’s why it’s important to keep on top of your measure and fit appointments. Book an in-store kids fitting at Clark’s Abbey Centre HERE.
