Abbey Centre Announced as Finalists in The Responsible Business Awards NI

We are delighted to announce that Abbey Centre has been selected as a finalist in The Responsible Business Awards in Northern Ireland, Collaborative Action Award, sponsored by Arthur Cox; for The Abbey Centre Lifesaving Skills Schools Initiative.

The ‘Abbey Centre Lifesaving Skills Schools Initiative’- sponsored by Abbey Centre, delivered by Staff Training NI and supported by Stryker, has visited twenty post-primary schools in the past 9 months, teaching 343 students and teachers lifesaving CPR, AED Defib, Choking and Epipen skills.

The annual Responsible Business Awards NI, organised by responsible business network Business in the Community and supported by key sponsor Henry Brothers, recognise, reward, and celebrate inspirational and impactful businesses in Northern Ireland that are taking practical action to address pressing social and environmental issues.

The Awards showcase transformational stories of businesses taking real action to build thriving communities and have celebrated those businesses demonstrating strong, inclusive leadership, who continually innovate to tackle pressing social issues and to repair and rebuild our planet.

Mark Stewart, Abbey Centre Manager says:

‘We are thrilled to be recognised alongside our partners Staff Training NI and Stryker. The Abbey Centre Lifesaving Skills Schools Initiative feeds into our wider Environmental Social Governance goals and goes beyond profit for societal good. The initiative has resulted in 343 more lifesavers in NI, arming each with the skills to give someone in need the best possible chance of survival. Thank you to The Responsible Business Awards NI sponsors, partners, and judges plus the awards media partner U105 for this prestigious accolade.’

Abbey Centre and partners will now attend judging panels held at Innovation Factory, Springfield Road, Belfast on 25 and 26 June where we’ll bring our entry to life by presenting to a panel of three expert judges.

The winners in each category will be announced at a glitzy gala event attended by over 600 guests in ICC Belfast on 5 September.

The Responsible Business Awards NI 2024 are in partnership with key sponsor Henry Brothers, event partner JP Corry and in association with media partners Ulster Business and U105, and communications partner Lanyon Communications.
